22 contactsSince my leaving Bahrain, in the aftermath of the political and economic crisis, capitalising on my long international management, operational, strategic and legal experience, I have been focusing on focusing on consulting Italian banks as analyst and helping many distressed Italian and European companies to restructure and strengthen their businesses, re-focus their core strategies, renegotiate debts, identify and implement BPR initiatives, improve their operations, solve complicated financial and legal issues. Besides, I am acting as Board Member in several companies and am involved in facilitating companies and HNWIs to identify and execute tactical M&As, LBOs, MBOs, MBIs of SMEs and acquisition of distressed assets to take advantage of the favourable market conditions.
In May 2011 I was appointed Executive Chairman of the Aeroporto di Reggio Emlia Srl - which is the Airport of the Province of Reggio Emilia (Italy) – for three months. After 10 years of losses, shareholders’ value destruction and disastrous management, increasing debts and compromised relationships with both shareholders and regulators, I was asked to restructure its business. In less than eight weeks, I led a EUR 2.5m capital increase effort needed to revamp operations and to stimulate growth of the declining turnover. My achievements include:
- Identification of the new business, strategic and operational plan for the next 15 years, which met the support of both key shareholders and regulators.
- Completion of company re-engineering and re-focusing of business priorities.
- Improvement of cash flow and profitability, paying down all debts and increasing liquidity
